How else would you explain their recent improvement? They were the #1 seed in
the west last year without any major free agent signings. They signed Hartenstein this year but that was after they rose to the #1 seed. Nearly their entire roster is home grown talent, though not all were top ten picks. They did hit a home run with Jalen Williams with the 12th pick and then had success with 2nd round picks/UDFAs (Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins).

They've had good picks but they didn't tank to get them. Jalen Williams was the #12 pick. Holmgren was #2 but he's hurt
