meh
In my mind, there is a argument for government using eminent domain to acquire the patent from tirzepitide from EL
Would save so, so much money for CMS in the future.
EL would get a giant infusion of cash right now, and retatrutide is coming out soon so they would be able to sell that.

They are pretty well known. The class of drugs has been around for a few decades

Bummer for all the people hitting the gym to do more strength training. Don't need any more bodies in the gym with me.

I think we all knew this from Mike Waters' sudden Planet Fitness obsession.

FDA took tirzepatide (better than Ozempic/semaglutide) off the shortage list just this week.

Interesting. Didn't see that. Will be interesting how that plays out.

Yeah, kinda a bummer. It happened sooner than I thought it would.

Yea that's going to be really interesting.. I think the govt will manipulate it

You underestimate the power and greed of big pharma

For sure. Huge money on both sides. Pharma usually wins but I'm still not

I am not sure that many people really want to lift weights (heavy weights)....
WIGGIN
9:14am
Exactly. The average adult (obese or not) hasn't picked up a weight in years

You might be right. They weren't committed to putting in the work before, why now
coolblue

Probably, but for females you don't have to go super heavy to look good

The thing with weights: you can see progress relatively quickly--especially

I agree with most of what you said with a couple of caveats:

In what way do they eat like crap? Do you mean small portions of junk food?
Belboz

Prior to Ozempic, my family was trying to eat better...
Bexell_Hall

sounds like a mistake. They should be eating a high fiber high protein diet and lift heavy weights.
TN_Coug
1:00pm
But why should they if they don't need to?
Bexell_Hall

They don't know they need to. Their prescriber is failing them.

I see more the opposite effect. Often people are more motivated to work out

What we do know is that being obese for long periods of time is definitely worse than any of those things you mentioned.

For sure. I think its ideal for Obese people.

You said they are “thicker boned,” so I’m guessing they were fat, but in your family that’s not considered fat.

Ozempic doesn't remove muscle, weight loss removes muscle.

It's the weight loss that causes sarcopenia.

Seriously, or at the very least stop price gouging the US. Every other country gets it for 15% of what we pay.

U are starving yourself but do not receive chemical signals to bother you
