We had 25 2nd down plays.
14 were run and 11 were pass. For the most part there is balance on 2nd down. When you look deeper it's not as balanced. On 2nd and 9 or shorter we had 15 plays. 6 were runs and 9 were pass. We had 10 plays of 2nd and 10 or greater (almost all were 2nd and 10). We ran on 8 of those and passed on 2. Of the two passes, neither crossed the line of scrimmage. One was a bubble screen to Lassiter for a loss of 3 yards and the other was a screen pass to Haunga for a 1st down. This is not just an A-Rod thing though. Most teams have a strong run tendency on 2nd and 10 trying to create a manageable 3rd down. I personally think it is dumb because it is predictable. A run on 2nd and 10 only works if the defense thinks it's a passing down or at worst they don't know which is coming. When it's always a run on 2nd and 10 then it only nets you 2 or 3 yards which is what happened on Saturday.
