I opted for MSEE instead of MBA, but here's what I know about it.
My wife helps people get into law school and also has colleagues that do business school. The general consensus is it isn't worth the time/money unless you go to a prestigious school, because it's all about the networking with other alumni. For example, I've worked with so many people (engineers) that have a U of Phoenix online MBA or whatever, and no one cares. It never really got them anywhere. Maybe they do a little more project management than technical work, but advancement is way more about WHO you know.

So, if you are going to do it, get into the very best school you can and go all in. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

As far as BYU specifically, it has a pretty highly rated program, but I've seen mixed results in MBAs in the work force. I've known a couple people it didn't really do much for, probably because they weren't really the networking type of personality. The school/network might be in the borderlands in terms of how valuable it really is, in other words almost a very good option but not quite. Think Wharton, Harvard, Stanford, etc if you really want to ensure you get the most value out of it, which means rubbing shoulders with people that are swimming in $. There are really way more MBA schools in the country than we need, and the market reflects that.
