The kid plays soccer, and I told the dad I would never punish a kid for playing another sport if they have a game that

interferes with practice than you should go to game. But when that happens once a week and they choose to miss the other practice to go swimming or hiking or something else I do have an issue with that. He still plays more than the required 10 plays but I just don't play him on offense because he's not there to learn the plays.
