Didn’t realize you’d already talked to him. So now you play the “minimum plays”
card, and let him figure out where to play your son. But there is a minimum play rule for a reason.

Any decent coach at the youth level can find a place to “hide” a player that is no good and doesn’t try hard for the minimum number of plays.

If your son isn’t very good but is trying hard, then the coach can definitely find a spot to play him for more than the minimum.
