The amount of hubris on the MD vs. DO issue is interesting. In my medical career, I have learned that the most important education is what comes after you graduate.

I've known MDs who can claim the title because they passed, but I wouldn't trust them to park my car.
I've known DOs I would trust with the lives of my loved ones.
I could also say that inversely.

I respect both, and whichever BYU pursues will rise to the stature of that great institution.
