Do you think it’s standard to ask family / friends / church members
For help moving?
Or is it more customary to hire a crew?
Does the answer change for people you know who aren’t members of the church?

If you have the means to hire a crew, do it.

Honestly, you do get to know a lot about people by moving their stuff

Nope. If you can afford movers, like most people can, you should do it, or do it

Even if you're cheap like me, rent a Uhaul, pack everything up yourself over

Yes it's normal to ask family, friends. IMO Church should be the last resort

Asking church members to help should be for the disabled, elderly, or very less
