that take time to shine. Excelling in sports isn't the only reason to sign up your kid. There are so many benefits from playing sports. So many life lessons can be learned by kids, even if they aren't great. Your definition of sucking may be very different from another person's. If they are having fun and it's a rec league, let them play. I've coached little league and I've always played every kid regardless of how bad they were (and I've had some extremely unathletic kids play on my teams). The comradery and confidence they get from being out there is incredible for them. And no, my kids don't suck. My kids play varsity at the high school right now and are very competitive. My daughter made it to state as a sophomore in tennis.
