Football was like that before and early McBride. Worse than USU now with injury

Every game against Utah in the late 80s and early 90s there were visibly intentional, nasty injuries. Much worse than recent games against USU. The long losing streak to BYU was creating serious issues. Thankfully McBride calmed that down. The rivalry becoming competitive again in the 90s probably helped.
