I am somewhere in the middle, because I realize things are tougher for people
starting out now than they were for me. It seems to be getting worse since everything is moving to a subscription model (which never ends) vs owning things and only paying for them once.

But I also feel like too many people use that as an excuse to sit and whine instead of making any changes about it. With all the bombs thrown at the baby boomers, I generally see no ideas of how to fix it.

The past is the past and we can't change that. But our society has become increasingly risk adverse (look at the Covid response) and more focused on social issues than financial issues. So, we have to all deal with the hand we are holding today rather than what we wish we had.
