What objective standards are you talking about?
Genuinely curious. The only worsening standard I can think of is the quality of the educational system. I think it is also the case that worker productivity is leveling out for the first time, but given how much time people spend at work playing on their phones the correct place to look for a solution is in the mirror.
Certainly standards of living continue to rise, even if that is now driven by more debt rather than greater earnings/productivity.
