I've been on a high deductible plan for the last six years
$10,000 out of pocket limit. We had our last child in 2013, the hospital bills were the last to be applied to the deductible and the OBGYN was prepaid. They offered us no interest pay back period, so we took that rather than eat up our savings.

In total that baby cost us upwards $8,000 and we just recently made the last payment to the hospital. I honestly feel no desire to have another kid because of how expensive it was. I know I could find another job and health plan, but I like where I am at and what I do, I'm not chasing a job just to find better health insurance.

I HATE that health insurance is largely tied to your employer and if not you get forced into expensive marketplace plans or medicaid.
