there is certainly a number of situations where a storage unit meets a need, but
long term storage of "stuff" ain't it.
Moving between homes, remodeling your home, kids home from college, off on an adventure abroad for a year or two, circumnavigating the globe on your own sailboat, long term RV trips, required business record storage, a small closet because you're an apartment dweller, etc. All of these I've seen firsthand and have been happy to provide a needed service.
