how big is the child compared to the bassinet?
We found that our bassinet was too roomy to feel comfortable. We padded the sides of the bassinet with rolled-up towels to decrease the movement space, making it a big more snug. It helped for a few months while my kid filled out more.

Sleep training is brutal but stick with it. Dont raise kids that can’t sleep unless they are in bed with mom and dad.

We have four, and all four of ours were sleeping in 4-5 hour stretches within a week of getting home,
