But we do know that donors pay a lot to fund coaches salaries. I guess the distinction is that they donate to the CC and then the AD makes coaching decisions autonomously from those donors.

I don’t entirely believe that, but that’s the point he’s trying to make. Ifa big donor told Holmoe he’s not donating until a coaching change is made, there’s no doubt that Holmoe would listen.
