Yeah, numbers get weird back in the day
That would be 2 of every 5 people in the country watching NBC at that time. And there definitely weren't near as many options back then, which helps
That said, 60M still feels like an exaggeration there. The Beatles' first appearance in the States (Ed Sullivan show) a decade later only got 70M. That's just my gut though. Either way, I'm sure it was a huge number
