This will kill G5 and FCS Programs
They depend on the money they get from scheduling the P4 teams. It will blow a hole in their budgets that simply can't be filled. There are 62 G5 teams and 129 FCS teams. That's a lot more schools than the 70 or so teams in this super league and politicians would note that. However, money is more important than votes in politics, so I would assume that the little guys will be left destitute.

This will also expose the SEC and the Big 10. They've thrived for years on schedules filled with cupcakes and conference cellar dwellers (I'm looking at you Indiana and Vanderbilt, no matter your recent success). Yes, Alabama and (to a certain degree) Georgia have been great the last 15 years, but if they had more hard games and the injuries and losses that would inevitably come from those games, they wouldn't lap the field nearly as often. That, more than anything is why the SEC won't like this proposal.

And then there is the number 70. With Notre Dame, there are 68 P4 schools. I assume that Wassu and OreSt would be brought back into the club, but a good argument could be made for Boise State and Memphis over either of those schools. It seems unlikely the whole Pac-7 would be brought in, so who knows what will happen.

It's the have versus the have nots, so I'm opposed to the new plan. However, my opposition won't even be noted and something like this will almost certainly happen soon.
