which is either three scores or two TDs + 2pt conversions. Plus our kicker had been money before that. Running the ball gets you a little closer and makes sure you don't fall out of FG range (or turn it over). If he would have hit it (and he should have), the game would be practically over. (he played it to WIN) Unfortunately he missed - and that's life. Still the right call
