I actually have been beating the same drum as you but just had a new concern pop
up while reading your post. Didn’t tons of G5 school fans watch the BCS championship game back when they didn’t have access?
I personally always boycotted it but I know lots in CB watched and also watched the 4 team playoff when we know an undefeated non-P5 team, including independent BYU would have been most likely left out.
So that makes me wonder if maybe I have underestimated the draw of a big title game. Like I said, up until reading your post I felt exactly as you. But why were so many people watching the BCS championship games then?

Relegation in CFB would be so awesome. And solve a ton of the current issues with level-of-play issues.
