They can use short passes and spread the defense out.
The WRs are undoubtedly the play makers for the offense right now with LJ out, put it in their hands and let them make plays. You can then mix in the run and take some shots. I just think trying to force the run so you can pass isn't going to work, it's what was tried most of last season and it didn't develop into anything.

Retzlaff should also run a little more, that kind of opened things up for the RBs a little against SMU.

What is head scratching to me is that Rex got 1 or 2 bubble screens a game last season and the season before with little success because he was just too slow against most defenses that BYU faced. Now they have Hill and Swanson at TE and I haven't seen them throw one bubble screen to either of them this season. This is an example of how Arod can use the short game.
