This leads me to believe there will be a ton of collaboration with Utah's medical school
BYU can help Utah further its already great global reputation and help increase its worldwide reach. It also can assist in research efforts. BYU benefits from Utah's expertise and its students may get residency opportunities in the U's health system. Utah will likely have a lot to do with BYU getting accredited. I don't see BYU's medical school getting off the ground without Utah's buy-in and collaboration. You can bet President Nelson, President Samuelson, and Elder Renlund have been cultivating this idea for a while.
