My company was recently purchased along with dozens of others. Lots of people who worked in an area that didn't have a local office now have a local office (It may be a completely different division/product... but there is now an office).

We have people who left our company years ago to work for a competitor... who now have to go back into the office they left.

They mentioned having to 'sign up for desk time' in offices that now will be flooded with people 🙂
