Don't waste all that cold air in your ducts, switch your fan to constant so that

I set mine to do that about a month ago hoping it would help balance the temps better across the house. I think it might

Seems like modern smart thermostats could keep the fan on for a few minutes after the AC cycles off

It's called "Cool Dissipation Time" and it is defaulted to Auto. But you can change it to a specific time.

I'd bet after 30 seconds the air coming out is still blowing cold, but your fan

When set to Auto the thermostat detects the optimal dissipation time and uses that.

Interesting, mine doesn’t have that setting

It's possible that newer models didn't let you change it. Or maybe there's another setting you have to enable to see it

My ecobee doesn't do that. At least not automatically. It does have a setting to tell it to run the fan a minimum number

Yeah my vents are all in the ceiling. I'd prob have to find a way to run the power up into the attic.

The point is, there are tradeoffs to keeping it on even when the AC is off. That post discusses them. In many cases
