it is for my exempt employees. That’s not to say there aren’t some things you let slide for non-exempt employees as well, but generally speaking we hold to the policies more closely. And, on the flip side, when they work an hour or two of overtime I expect to pay them a higher wage for those hours rather than thinking they’ll tell me to keep the difference because it’s just the ebb and flow of working. But, for exempt level employees that are performing at expectations or better generally there is a lot of gray and a few hours off for dental, medical, etc appts are not tracked because I also know there are many extra hours worked at times that won’t be ‘tracked’ either—you just have a job to do when you’re exempt infifferentvtobb by the hours it takes.
