Kalani isn’t perfect, clearly. However, he is as good as all the coaches BYU has had in the last 25 years, to include Edwards late in his BYU time. Basically same record as Bronco playing many more top teams. Much better than Crowton. I don’t think there is an alternative that is clearly better. Many alternatives would be risky and likely to make things much worse.
Firing coaches that have been too 25 2 of the last 3 complete seasons rarely works out. Feel free to list schools that fired coaches with top 25 finishes 2 out of 3 years that improved with the next coach? That list is really short. And those schools had the theoretical option to hire every coach in the country. BYU won’t even consider the vast majority of coaches.
