I mean, I wasn't expecting the Hilton. But I was at least expecting a clean room
that was reasonably free of injury risk. Seems even 2 star motels should be able to deliver on that front (which is what this hotel "rated" at).

The family obviously didn’t think it was risk even though they knew it was damaged. They still chose to use the shower.
