If they suck but are having fun, getting exercise and creating good friendships they should play forever. Spoiler alert. A fraction of kids will play high school. A smaller fraction will get meaningful playing time. A much smaller number will have an opportunity to play for something other than fun after high school. And a percentage that is insignificant will make money by playing the sport professionally. We are pretty much all playing fun, exercise and social interaction.
