I'm not from the US but after living in SLC, I very much disagree with you.

Nobody at BYU really cares about Utah.

Nearly every yewt forms their identity around BYU hate.

It got to the point that, when I told people where I went to school, I was fully prepared to respond to the usual "OH, I'm sorry" with "If you're a yewt, you sure are."
