Breathing on her own, etc., never had any IV or anything. The bill for just that 8 hrs was 35k. Our boss had decided to cancel maternity the year before. I wonder if we had been insured if they would have denied the claim but we sucked it up, took out the 2nd mortgage and paid the entire 75k bill. She's a great kid, 9 yrs old now but we still are paying on that mortgage. The medical system is tough to negotiate these days.
