MarylandFan Intervention Needed
Why is there dissatisfaction with LES? What pitfalls lurk in outlaying big $?
This is my non-scientific opinion as a casual football fan.

LES is currently the largest capacity stadium in the Big12 already. It handsomely fills out when the team is playing well. It's playing well right now, so demand is up. That can change.

I've always heard BYU Football talked about as a money poor program compared to it's peers from coaches and assistants pay, endowments for scholarships, recruiting budgets, etc. Are we now cash rich and looking to spend? Is that based on projected revenue, or a current reserve?

In 2024, I'm much more sensitive to how quickly things can change culturally that can impact something like NCAA affiliation or university accreditation. I don't know what the status of Brigham Young University will be culturally in 10 years.

I don't have the 30,000 foot view on everything causing discussion surrounding renovating or rebuilding the stadium, but it seems like it's easy to think good times will continue during good times. I think the "need" versus "want" test is a good one to apply. If BYU needs a renovated or new stadium, then it ought to figure out a way to do it, but my impression is that it's more of a want.

What are the biggest reasons any of you see it being a "need?"
