so you think recruiting over the last 30 years hasnt changed?
we see 14, 15 year old kids are being glamorized all over ESPN, very very few actually put an education first. more than ever, high school athletes, especially football kids are getting special attention and incentives that other students will never dream about getting. We see college athletes who think they should be paid and dont even realize the hundreds of thousands of dollars they receive through scholarships, living expenses and benefits, they file a lawsuit against a video game which had to end its franchise that millions of people played because they were "Stealing their identity" and as long as money is the driving force, it'll only get worse.

tate martell was being recruited at 12 years old. That means that tate has spent 30% of his life, being looked at and catered by a million dollar industry. this applies to almost any high level recruit these days. these kids are being pampered to believe that what they do is more important than having an education. does that apply to every single student athlete? of course not but you'd be pretty naive to believe that the recruiting isn't a mess now days...

these kids now have twitter, Instagram, facebook etc... and have thousands and thousands of people following them. they are 16 years old and have a national following. imagine being 16 years old, and everyone across the nation is idolizing you, and know you by name and see your every move. That is what happened to this kid, and that is why he was upset that urban didnt recognize him, because he has been trained to believed that everyone should know who he is.
