Back on the crack pipe I see...

I especially love the way you define your own criteria and then state it as fact.

If you truly want to prove you don't hate Bronco...just shut the yewt up about him. You are completely obsessed with destroying an honorable man. A man who has beaten KW 3 out of 5 times head to head, has more top 25 finishes, has a better overall record...

Ok. You don't like the guy. But you are to Bronco what Snipe is to Obama. You are completely obsessed with trying to convince anyone who will listen that he is at best an "average" coach and if you had your way a terrible coach.

The facts simply will not support your argument. So he lost to AF. Bill Bellichek lost to a far inferior NY Giants team in a Superbowl. That doesn't make him a bad coach. Bob Stoops lost to a far inferior (on paper) BYU team. That doesn't make him a bad coach. And Kyle Whittingham lost to Bronco 3 out of 5 times (not to mention being shut out by a very, very bad UNLV team). That doesn't make him a bad coach.

Was Lavell a bad coach? Bronco has certainly come out of the gate equalling if not surpassing Lavell.

You claimed in an earlier post that Chris Peterson is a comparable comparison and far surpassed Bronco. Fine. I will buy that. However, did Peterson inherit the Crowton debacle or did he fall in on an already dominant WAC program left to him by Dan Hawkins? And if the WAC is such a great comparison. What coach other than Peterson would top Bronco? Pat Hill has done some good work, but you certainly couldn't put him in Bronco's league.

How about a comparable Conference USA coach? Or MAC? Or Sunbelt? All of them have far easier schedules than BYU yet none have produced a coach with his winning percentage.

The guy has the 5th best winning percentage in FCS over the past 5 years. By any objective criteria, he is an excellent coach. Recruiting? Check. Academics? Check. Integrity? Check. Sold out stadiums? Check. ESPN TV Deal? Check. Winning record against rival? Check.
Faith and confidence of Board of Trustees(you do know who they are, right?). Check.

BYU is not Utah. It is not USC. It is not Texas. It is not Notre Dame. BYU may be the most demanding coaching position in all of FCS when factoring in the myriad of criteria other coaches do not contend with.

Bronco has excelled where some coaches would fear to tread...even after tentatively accepting the job for a night.

Am I satisfied? No. Probably never will be. I want to win every game and then I want to win every game with more style. But I am also not a blind moron so obsessed with venemous hatred that I can't see what is plain for the world to see. Bronco is an excellent coach. He is not without weakness, but he is an excellent coach. Kyle is also an excellent coach. He also has his weaknesses but no objective observer would label him average. I could make a solid case that he exceeds Bronco. I could also make a solid case that Bronco, especially with the unique challenges he faces as BYU coach, exceeds Kyle. But it would be foolhardy to try and make a case that either of them is bad or even average. The proof is in the pudding. They both have risen to the top of their profession. Neither is Nick Saban...or even Chris Peterson at this point. But their not Ron McBride or Gary Crowton either.

So get a life. Find a different obsession. Stop peeing in the wind. No amount of vitriol will overrule common sense or facts. You may not be a yewt, but your obsession certainly makes you look like one.
