Only issue I have with all that?

When all facts aren't available to you, it's very easy to criticize. There must be hundreds of factors and issues that impact how a HC decides to prepare his team. People outside the organization typically just can't know about all those, so they have to judge based mostly on results.

Bronco has had much better than average results. I would say Crowton was closer to average than Bronco. But another, and perhaps a better, way to measure success (although W-L is still #1 in my book) is to look at how well the organization functions. This is where Bronco blows away most coaches. He has put together a very well functioning organization. This is a required base for any team to achieve success.

Now that he's got that, will he be able to move to level 11; that's my question. I'm not convinced yet. But there's no way you can convince me that he's an average coach. He's much closer to excellent than average.

We'll see, I guess. I'm not a fan of football being #5 and I don't agree with the mission president schtick. But I won't argue with it all until BYU is clearly under-performing beyond a single game.

(I do like that BYU football is being used as a missionary tool, but I would rather have another person driving that besides Bronco. His #1 priority, I think, should be to win football games. You aren't going to get a lot of missionary mileage from even a perennial 7-5 team. These consecutive 10 win seasons are tremendously impressive.)
