It could have been way worse as our car was in the driveway at the time and he barely missed it.

He then proceeds to run back to his van, and simply drives away.

We came home to find our mailboxes in shambles. Fortunately for us, another neighbor saw him driving away and also captured a video of the whole thing on his Ring camera.

Does the delivery company take immediate responsibility and offer to replace our mailboxes you ask? Of course not. I sent them the video as well as the photos of the mailboxes. They are asking for a police report, three quotes for the cost of repairing the mailboxes, the license plate of the van, written witness statements and more. Such a freaking nightmare.

I think it will be easier to simply pay for the cost to fix the mailboxes and not deal with all this nonsense.

Needless to say, I now have a Ring camera set up and filming everything. Because while the neighbors camera caught the incident, it was a grainy video from further away and did not capture the license plate or any other details.

What bugs me most is that the driver will likely get away with this. He literally leaves his van in idle, which could have rolled forward and hit a car or knocked the light post over into one of our houses. Then he hurries up and gets in his van and just drives away.
