Oyster card is cheaper than purchasing a single trip ticket print out from a machine with your credit card (very old method), but using your credit card at the electronic turnstile scanner now acts just like an oyster card at the electronic turnstile where you scan either one (or your phone)

Only exception when an Oyster card makes since is for a minor... getting the minor rate

Yeah everyone does it from the airport. Just use google maps to find the right subway line (tube) and you’re there.
