The flight hours at a 141 school (like a UVU or university) are an EXPENSIVE
way to become a pilot. I just looked it up, and you're typically going to graduate with 250-300 flight hours, which is basically enough to be a CFI. Cost is around $150K. At a private flight school, the cost is going to be half of that to get to that same point, and you'll do it in under a year instead of 4 years.

Sure, still go to some college (maybe online) and get a degree as a backup. But I wouldn't use a university as my pilot training plan.
