Bradley was drafted in 1993. Rookie scale went into effect in 1995.
Bradley could have played one more year. (But I agree, it made sense to go in 1993 because the NBA was discussing a rookie scale then).
And your numbers are wrong. Bradley signed an 8-year/$44 million rookie contract. He may have been drafted #1 in 1994, which was a 10-year/$68 million contract to Big Dog Glenn Robinson.
