The issue, at least as I see it, isn't that it is waiting a year to get the
first contract. It is pushing off the second contract (and others after) off another year. Those are where the big money contracts really are.
I have no idea what I would do. But I see it as taking a year off the end of my NBA career rather than anything to do with the beginning of it.
