Attorney general is a compound word and can be a title so it can work both ways. But a Book of Mormon is not
a compound word. It is a title. There is no grammatically correct way to claim Books is accurate. It changes the title of the book. Unless you want to say I am bringing books that talk of mormon. so books of Mormon. But it can't be Books of Mormon.

The correct way to make a title plural is add an s to the end. It is not always clean so you say copies etc.

True story: I once asked L. Tom Perry this question (at the BYU/FSU game of all places), he said “Books of Mormon.”
