I see the argument for copies of the Book of Mormon, but it’s 100% not Book of Mormons. Why would you pluralize Mormon, there’s only one of him. If anything there are multiple books or multiple copies if you prefer.

Attorney general is a compound word and can be a title so it can work both ways. But a Book of Mormon is not

The correct way to make a title plural is add an s to the end. It is not always clean so you say copies etc.

True story: I once asked L. Tom Perry this question (at the BYU/FSU game of all places), he said “Books of Mormon.”
