Exactly if you aren't enjoying the journey and doing it for college you are
setting yourself up for disappointment. Don't waste the joy of your kids childhood on that. If you are on a cutthroat team then find a team with coaches and other parents with realistic expectations that are there for the growth of the boys. Sports are a tool to help our kids grow and learn to work and play as a team. That is it. Sports are made for kids, not kids made for sports. Feels like that should be a scripture.

If your kid ends up amazing and plays college great, but that is a stupid expectation.
