There was a timeout on the floor, and the Wisconsin band was playing while their cheerleaders were on the court. This is when the loud B-Y-U-COUGARS chant really took hold - couldn't really hear their band at all. This middle aged woman turned around to our BYU fan group and told us that this wasn't classy behavior. Evidently, I learned on Saturday, when the other team's band and cheerleaders are performing, it is proper basketball etiquette to let them finish, wait our turn basically to cheer for our team. Didn't know that. I reminded her that it was a basketball game, and she said it didn't matter, classy fan behavior was to listen to the opponent's band and cheerleaders perform, then we could have our turn. She was very bothered and shook her head in a very disapproving way when I my eyes rolled back into my head.
I guess you learn something every day. š
