In the transfer portal era, I don't see why that's a must. Especially when
BYU is already a top 20 team in the country (top 5 since February), and we're already bringing in the #1 recruit in the nation.
What, specifically, do you think is going to keep BYU from competing for a national championship next year? And no, vague answers about history do not qualify. It seems like the coaching, the infrastructure, and institutional support are all there. Seems to me the last piece of the puzzle is upgrading the roster.
