It is the cult of Musk, Elon Musk said Lidar is "A fools errand", and having previously been a part of the cult of Musk, not only are you not allowed to criticize Musk, but you must accept everything he says is the gospel truth.

I will admit, I remember being so excited about everything Musk was going to do. . . between robotaxis, a Mars colony in 2024, Hyperloop and interplanetary starship travel in 30 minutes, Multiple layer tunnels with pods/shuttles going 140 mph, Infinite energy with solar roof tiles that were cheaper than regular roof tiles, flying cars. Back in 2019. . . I believed each and every one of those things.

Now I think Robotaxis will happen sometime before 2030, and the rest will not happen unless someone besides Elon does it. Honestly though . . . you never know for sure?
