I have digested the Rober Tesla controversy. The test is almost meaningless.
The fog and rain tests are *almost* meaningful. But nobody should be operating a car, no matter the driver assistance features, if they can't see. And Mark says in the video he is unable to see the fake child in one of those tests, at least. I suppose the rain and fog tests at least represent a bad situation a driver could find themselves in unexpectedly. Very low value test, but maybe not totally worthless.

But those tests are getting very little discussion.

The Wiley Coyote test's only value is entertainment. We do not encounter road-murals on brick walls in the middle of freeways. Humans would undoubtedly fail this test at a high rate. Just think about how confused drivers get if road markings are unclear.

Tesla DID have a problem avoiding stopped emergency vehicles and semi trucks on the road after it moved to tesla vision. Seems that a stopped truck and a billboard were too similar, but of course the reactions to each are very different. I believe Tesla pretty much fixed that issue.

So what conclusion should I reach from the Tesla running through the mural? Don't place life size murals across the freeway seems to be the only real conclusion.

Not sure why Tesla Bros are so angry about the result.
