Wow, 32 years to graduate from BYU.
When I graduated from BYU (only 3.5 years, went to summer school and got some online credits) I didn't want to leave. I wanted to be a professional student and keep on going to school at BYU, that's how much I really loved being at BYU. I still tell people that I think BYU is Heaven on Earth. I wish I were still going to school there. But I left for a job and money. I'm sorry but life goes on.
Imagine going to the football and basketball games as a student and now they have the ROC. I'm so jealous. The BYU students these days are having so much fun. Screaming like a Viking Princess in labor, whatever that classic post was. I would do it, be loud and proud.
I would have several degrees by now. But I'd be stone broke. Still living in an apartment and working some part-time jobs. But who cares about money. The BYU experience is so wonderful.
I loved the sports, always playing pickup or intramural basketball and football. Racketball, golf, bowling, checkers, every sport there was we were playing sports all the time. It was so great.
And the social life. Wow, the social life. BYU girls are so beautiful. But I still would have got married so no social life for 32 years. Just married life. Which is OK. Can't imagine having kids and a big family while still a student for 32 years and living in an apartment. Can't make that work. There are trade-offs in life. You give up some good things in exchange for other good things.
At least we get to go back to the BYU campus and go to a football or basketball game and live the BYU fan experience once in awhile. One of the good things in life.
