but have held off on inserting Mag any sooner — because they NEEDED all our vet guards to be the backbone of the offense (or at least a vital part of the backbone).

Waiting till now to insert Mag leaves no question that the staff's doing what's best for the team, & that guys like Dallin & Dawson are gonna have to adjust their games for the good of the team. I'm pretty sure Dawson realizes this team NEEDS for him to raise his defensive game — but that the team also NEEDS for Mag to come in and give us a level of perimeter D we don't get otherwise.

That might've been a harder sell to Dawson & others if they'd tried doing it before Christmas — would be my guess.
