already be announced. That would be a no brainer.
So... it must be that there isn't enough NIL $$ out there to both pay players and fund a new stadium????
I know many donors want luxury boxes (especially for the winter games) and let's hope they get them eventually.
I was at a UConn bball NCAA tourney game with a person in their fund raising division. He pointed to a white tent party happening outside the stadium. He said that more funds will be raised in that tent that day than all of the ticket sales for the season. He said that when they're winning the big $$$ shows up to the tents. They want to be in the tent because they want to tell people they were in the tent (or they want to be seen by the others in the tent). He said their desire for access to the program skyrockets when they are good so they are laser focussed on raising as much money as possible during the good years.
I think this is what BYU needs. A couple of years of deep runs and then the donors really show up. That's when you ask for the funds to build the new stadium. We aren't there yet, but are trending in the right direction
(Note - the Provo high school land is an obvious curveball. If athletics get it, then that should impact the timing of a new stadium)
Right now my hope is that we focus on getting more NIL donors... then worry about building/remodeling.
