participate in pay for play. They do participate in NIL.
BYU has said they will not get involved with pay for play. I wonder if they change their mind at some point. I would guess they do.
My guess would be that they sign employment contracts with the football players that include revenue share. Everyone on the team will get X. Everyone who plays will get X+Y. Everyone who starts will get X+Y+Z. And then each player will get small incentives that could boost their total pay by a small percentage - perhaps a total of 10% of bonus money for hitting certain goals.
I think BYU will avoid contracts that cut up the revenue share based on who scores touchdowns and who makes tackles.
